Friendly helpful staff and a lovely breakfast

Another brill weekend here. The only issue being it was a heatwave this weekend and our room ,(Room 62) was like an oven as you can't open the bathroom window and the bedroom window only opens a touch. Humidity from the shower didn't help but boy, what a shower! So powerful it blows you away LOL. Back again at the end of the month when it's hopefully cooler 😎

Just stayed in the Windsor Hotel Whitley Bay for two nights with my wife to see her relatives and had a great time with the family but the Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful the room was great and breakfast was great cannot fault it

Did all the searching online - reviews - comparisons - blah blah - got bored with all that and decided to ring the Windsor, best thing I could of done - from the minute they answered the phone, they were brilliant - I was promised friendly treatment, clean rooms, great shower and value for money - they excelled themselves - in every department.no it's not the Ritz - but it is a nice, clean friendly place to stay - thanks for making a stag weekend for 12 guys over the age of forty - very bearable - I do recommend the Windsor and the nee bother attitude they have - honest review.

Stayed here tor the 1st time. Excellent location for the beach and also shops and bars. Night club over the road if that's what you like. Staff are amazing especiallySuzie. Great rooms nice bar and restaurant. Can not wat to visit again

We stayed for 2 nights. It’s nicer than a travel lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful and we liked that our twin had a big bathroom with a bath! Definite Stay here again if we’re doing a video shoot in Whitley Bay. Only downside was the windows that we couldn’t fully open.

Clean and tidy and in a central location, the Windsor Hotel is an older type and style of property, but the price reflects this.We had a plumbing issue the first day and were immediately moved to a superior room, which was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

we have been to Whitley Bay several times over the past few years The Windsor has been the hotel of choice for us. The rooms are well kept with a beautiful view of the sea from room 20. The front lobby staff are fantastic and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast on several occasions and dinner as well. The taste and presentation were good. I never had an issue.

Stayed In room 66. Overlooked Nightclub but wasn't really an issue as the fight outside was really entertaining. Not that noisy. Cracking Shower and a bath too. Maybe a little tired but absolutely sound and even the dog had his own single bed at £10 a night. We'll be back again :-)

Your looking at a dog freindly hotel..parking and breakfast available....lift needs repairing as its a staircase otherwise...Saturday night steak night booking urgently needed...receptionist vary most are welcoming but some more helpful than others...dog rooms are selected which is understandable...breakfast is very good basic but functionality wise works...the hotel needs a good sweep outside ..and the carpark needs tidying ...its budget and price reflects that ...the rooms are clean but dated need modernisation...the breakfast staff are worth a wage rise they work hard and they like receptionist are worth a bigger wage...overall the hotel could be better as its location reflects that...dont be put off by the appearance in general its 7/10 for everything no complaints....however regarding improvement fridges needed in paying guests rooms as the rooms get HOTTER THAN VEGAS

A little dated but clean and we had a room with three beds -perfect for me and my daughters (18 and 14) for two nights. Bath and shower (shower had decent pressure too).

Lovely staff especially Ryan the worker he was absolutely amazing really helpful really great to talk to and a Liverpool fan so that was even better I will be staying here again as the area was spot on thank you so much we have cleaned up are room and thanks again ☺️☺️

Our room was spacious and clean, with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The stairs were filthy. I mentioned it at reception and the response was sympathetic although the receptionist wasn’t sure that she could do anything about it, because there was never enough time to do rooms and stairs. However, we returned after a day out to a vacuumed stair carpet. Thank you.

The staff were very friendly and polite.We had a problem with the shower which was rectified veryquickly.The hotel is a little tired and showing it's age.

Size of room is very good. Bathroom good size, but window doesn't open so very humid! Sink dripping.I was able to leave my bicycle in my room which was lovely. Peace of mind. Staff extremely helpful with whatever I asked. Thenightclub across the road isn't ideal unless you're going there. Don't leave the room window open, super noisy!I'd give more than 3 stars for staff but overall that's what it is.

stayed one night as doing Chase the Sun cycle ride. lady on reception brilliant very friendly and professional. allowed us to take our bikes into our room no problem. Hotel clean and functional. however the night club across the road was very very noisy until early hours and we had a 2:45am alarm which wasn’t required!! to be fair we did hear about the club but didn’t expect it to be that noisy

I was visiting whitley bay for a couple of nights and decided to stay at the Windsor Hotel,the room was very adequate and comfortable for what I required,also it was nice and quiet during my stay .

just got home after a one night stay over in The Windsor Hotel. We can't complain the price was brilliant and that included our breakfast which was lovely ,Hotel dated but clean and warm ,hot water, large room and bathroom,bed comfy ,plenty of parking front and back ,staff friendly and helpful,in a good location for shopping, pubs ,restaurants and the play House ,would stay here again 😀

The Windsor is situated near the sea and close to numerous restaurants. It has its own car park. The rooms are clean if basic. The receptionist was.friendly and check in was painless. For an overnight stay it was perfect.

I paid £120 for two nights that included our dog. At that price,I wasn’t expecting luxury; however it was better than i expected. The room was big and had all features that you would want. I would describe the room as being a bit dated, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful. Thehotel is in an excellent location & is literally within 100 metres of the beach, eateries and shops.

The Windsor looks old and run down from outside and would benefit from a new paint job. Inside is different, its airy and clean. Rooms are spacious, clean and have all you need. The bathrooms are large and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.Its a good place to stay if you overlook the exterior of the building.I have no complaints. The price is good too for a hotel within 2 minutes of the beach.

Very friendly welcome, visiting with granddaughter and Jack the naughty Labrador, receptionist gave us a list of pet friendly pubs, restaurants which was very helpful. Room very small but ok for just one night stay. We did have a leaking radiator but did not affect our stay at all. So close to beach and town centre.

The staff are extremely nice and pleasant and the rooms are big for what we needed. The only criticism that I can say that in our room was like a sauna all the time. It was extremely uncomfortable for us and our dogs but that isn't a fair reflection on the staff. All I would say is that booking.com don't charge you for pets but to let everyone know you get a charge of £10 for 1 dog or £15 for two dogs per night. Ask not to stay in one of the extremely hot room.

Well me and partner stayed at the Windsor again this weekend, I must say the room was fantastic lovely big window and the bathroom was so spacious, really comfy bed, I must compliment the hosts Suzzie and Sarah the receptionist and a massive shout out to Steph who runs around like a blue arse fly and nothings a bother thanks so much again

We had a lovely weekend break at the Windsor Hotel. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had a spacious corner room with a fantastic sea view. There’s a lovely coffee shop across the road calling No Fret run by a lovely lady called Gina

Thank you for yet another happy stay at The Windsor Hotel. Our room was super and we could even see the sea! Lovely coordinated furnishings, clean and comfortable beds. In particular we appreciated the warmth and willingness to do anything to help including the offer to help with luggage made by the gentleman on reception upon our arrival and the lady on reception the next day who organised a plug for the bath immediately upon our request. We will certainly continue to stay at The Windsor Hotel on future visits to see family in the North East.

Great value hotel. Family room very spacious. Shower very powerful and had everything that was needed. Beds comfortable. Reception staff extremely pleasant and helpful and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was good and preordering the night before was handy.

Stayed here for one night whilst travelling north. Hotel was in a good position near the sea and shops. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style due to a party of school children staying but we were warned when dining room would be busy. Excellent choice of food, fresh and hot. Would stay here again

Our initial room wasn't great (or really as advertised). However, the room we were moved to was fantastic,with a lovely view of the sea. The staff was also wonderful, helpful and friendly.

Overall this is a decent hotel.My room was sizeable and well appointed; although the TV Signal can be a bit patchy.It is in a good location and the staff are friendly.One odd point; I booked through Expedia and the pic they show is not the Windsor; although nobody seemed to know why.

I stayed for 2 nights ( including breakfast ) . I asked to move room as I wanted the room I stayed in before. The matter was promptly resolved by the receptionist. The room was well heated and perfectly clean. Breakfast was great as you can order what you want all for the same price.All in all a fantastic stay with great comfort and friendly staff.

Bargain price stay. OK it may be a little tired, but the room was warm & clean. TV cut in and out but due to the weather. Staff really friendly. Only real gripe is the number off used cigarette butt's dumped out front of the hotel by some particular residents. We'll be back regardless.

Great Location by the Sea room size is great and the showers and hot water work a blast. Comfy beds and warm too. There is a club opposite that gets quite loud till about 2-3 in the morning so when booking try and get a room at the back of hotel. Otherwise great experience 💯

8 folks in 5 rooms for 2 nights bed and breakfast in November.The rooms were all of a good size. It was chilly outside but toasty inside.The staff were all friendly,helpful and attentive. Producing a relaxed atmosphere.The breakfasts were cooked to individual requests not a buffet and everyone complimented them.We had 2 dogs, both made welcome.

The staff at the Windsor Hotel couldn’t help you enough. We asked to change rooms as ours was very hot. They found us a great room. very friendly. The room was quiet. Bed a bit hard but comfy enough. Clean and nice bathroom. Decent breakfast . The only thing that spoilt it was one rude member of staff in the breakfast room . We were told briskly no dogs allowed here. You’ll have to go to the bar room. That’s fine but needs saying nicely. All in all I’d stop again but would ask for a cool, quiet room.

Great location and friendly staff. Very reasonably priced and clean. What more could you want? Yes the place is a little tired but does that stop a good nights sleep? No. I had read how noisy it was at the front of the hotel because of the nightclub opposite. Not at all. How hot the rooms were and windows not working. Not at all. All in all a cracking place at a cracking price. Could do with setting up a few WiFi boosters upstairs but not a complaint just an observation. If I ever want a place to stay in Whitley bay I know where to stay.

Large spacious room, comfortable and in good order. Excellent value for money, staff all lovely. Only negative which is not their fault is the nightclub opposite which turned out very noisily at 2am Friday and Saturday night of my stay and took half hour to quieten down. (I have also left that business a review!) I would stay again but only on a week night which I assume would be quieter.

The cost per night reflects the ‘tiredness’ of the hotel. It is clean and tidy. The staff are really lovely. The rooms are spacious and there is lots of hot water. A really great place if you are not looking for luxury. And the promenade is a one minute walk away.

Hotel was basic but clean, all we needed for a 1 night stay with our kids. Dog friendly too £10 charge on arrival.

First of all perfectly located , easy to park . Brilliant location beside the sea and right in town, double room really spacious with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed. I had a great view of the sea and the lighthouse. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Very happy.

The room was a great size, was able to relax on a sofa and watch tv in the evening. Staff were so very welcoming and kind. The room sadly needed a clean, carpets hadn’t been hoovered & dirty cups in the bathroom sink. We didn’t let this spoil our stay and we grateful the staff were so courteous.

We found the Windsor Hotel very comfortable for the 4 of us in the family room provided — clean and comfy beds. The wifi was not great in the back portion of the hotel where our room was, and for more than one night, it would have been annoying. Travelling with young teenage daughters out of season, the ambience around the hotel was OK, but not great, with a higher than average number of middle-aged men 'hanging' around.

Easy to find hotel, arrived to find a large secure car park.Entrance to the hotel is via the car park so could'nt be easier to arrive at reception, this was quick and simple.7 of us travelled and we all ordered our breakfasts there and then.Rooms were clean with fresh towels, tea and coffee facilities.Hotel bar ws open until late with a choice of bottled beers and spirits.Ideal location to explore the North East. (beach is 100m walk)It's not the Ritz but it is extremely good value for money, the whole team are welcoming and very friendly.We will all be staying again next year.

The staff we met were lovely and friendly and made us feel welcome.The rooms were spacious and the beds and facilities were clean and sufficient.The hotel has an old-fashioned charm and a vintage feel to it which was nice and in keeping with the surroundings.The only issue we had was with the noise levels - when we or the people in room above walked across the floor all the furniture rattled.

My elderly mother stayed here for a week with her small dog. The staff ensured she was well looked after as this was her first time away on her own and she was apprehensive being so far away from home. The Hotel was clean, central and easily accessible. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook with them next time. BIG thanks to Sarah on reception for going out of your way to make my mother feel at home!

Lovely welcome on arrival from the Receptionist. First impressions were that the place was a bit tired.The room was a good size and very clean with complimentary tea, coffee and a little biscuit. The TV signal was hit and miss. The bed was nice and comfortable with good pillows.The bathroom was also very clean with the option of a bath or separate shower.Early start and a nice greeting from the night porter.Overall would stay here again for business purposes.T

I've stayed here many times over the last 20 years or so. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms are clean and well managed and there's always the option of a big breakfast if you fancy it. The location is great being close to the sea and beach. It's a few minutes walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants of Whitley Bay. There's plenty of room in the car park for guests.

Excellent staff. Clean basic room fulfilled our requirements perfectly. Staff couldn’t have been any friendlier. If I come back to Whitley Bay then here is where I’ll stay.

We didn't know what to expect as none of us were familiar with Whitley Bay. The rooms were well equipped and would have been very comfortable had it not been unbearably hot throughout our stay. Some form of air conditioning or a fan really were essential.Staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was lovely.Our biggest problem was because there is a night club situated opposite the hotel and the noise, loud banging music and very loud female voices shouting and screaming, from there meant we did not get to sleep until well gone 3am.

Stayed in Windsor Hotel spot on clean car park at back of hotel and people working for them go the extra mile to help you.

We enjoyed our stay here thoroughly. The decor is a bit tired and we had a couple little niggles (lamp not working, window wouldn't stay open) but those were the only downside. The room was large and clean, great beds, very comfortable. The shower was brilliant, such water pressure! Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Parking so handy and letting us store our bikes inside was brilliant. Best thing about the place was the staff, everyone we spoke to was just so friendly and helpful they really made our stay. Some guests mentioned noise and it is a busy street at night but our room was on the side so we didn't hear anything. The location is brilliant too, only a few minutes from the beach. All in all great, would absolutely stay again.

Found as a last minute, as travelling from Scotland on a tour. So pleased we found here. Massive room 77, lovely big bathroom with bath, so enjoyed a soak after all the driving. Beautiful sandy beach a walk away. Woken by seagulls early, apart from that a very comfortable stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Windsor. The family room we had was huge. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The reception staff were very polite and helpful too. Will definitely stay again.

I have stayed here many times now , it’s our go to when I need to walk along the beautiful coast line.The hotel is dated and does need some money spent on its looks inside, but I have always had clean beds and rooms.The staff are always there if you need them , without any questions

We stayed here for almost a week and were made to feel welcome from the start. We brought our dog with us too (great that it's dog friendly). On a night you are so close to the sea front you can actually hear the waves as the tide comes in!The bed was extremely comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. I would agree with previous comments that some of the decor is looking a little tired, but they are in the process of updating that and to be honest, I'd rather that the hotel was clean and a little dated than new and unclean. This was clean. No dust anywhere in the room. Nice and spacious room - and plenty of storage to be able to unpack as well which was nice.The restaurant food - where do we start? AMAZING. It's a small menu but MAN do they do it well and its so reasonably priced too. Beautifully presented and service was great.When we were there, there were a couple of things- totally out of the hotel's control - which did disrupt sleep1) There's a bar opposite which is open quite late and has loud music. nothing they can do about it though and it's a well managed bar with security on the door.2) On the last night, there was a lot of noise from one of the rooms. We called the night porter in the middle of the night to ask for help - he was there within 5 mins and sorted everything.It's a lovely place. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we will definitely be back!

There is always a friendly greeting and you are made to feel very welcome. The rooms are a good size and very clean. There is always plenty of hot water. The hotel is a two minute walk from the promenade. A massive bonus is the parking availability. AND you can take bikes inside for safe keeping.

The property was easy to find with an excellent free car park. The room was warm and clean. The property has however seen better days, particularly the corridors. Whilst there was a tv in the room it didn’t work. The WiFi was good as were the staff.

The hotel itself is a little tired and needs modernising but was clean and breakfast was loverly.the staff were loverly , helpful and friendly. Some of other guests were less desirable in my opinion.

Upon my arrival I was greeted with a smile and very pleasant member of staff. Checked in ok and my room was a single room. Rather basic but nice. Tea and coffee facilities . Room was clean and tidy. Could maybe do with upgrading the TV but all in all a nice stay. Yet to have breakfast but I’m sure it’ll be fine.

As usual a very warm welcome, very obliging, as I arrive earlier than check in time, reception staff very obliging and take care of my case allowing me to meet family and friends. Room very clean and tidy, housekeeping staff always replenish my complimentary drinks and biscuits on a daily basis. Looking forward to returning very soon. Reasonably priced for the room provided.

We stayed 2 nights , room was quite hot but clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellant , couldn't get to eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked so i reccommend book in advance . There was plenty of parking available overall our stay was good

Staff where very friendly,breakfast was good,the only problemwas the room we were in was very hot and stuffy, has for safety we could only open the window about3 inch.

We stay here regularly to visit family.It's a real bonus to have an hotel car park, the staff are super friendly and always accommodating.The room was big, clean and comfortable.Bathroom was great too.It's close to Whitley Bay Centre, and to the metro.

The place is a little bit tired, but that's expected for the price. The staff are great though, very helpful. The breakfast was good too. We were cycling the coast route to Scotland and this made for a great start point. Parking is available and we had bikes in our rooms. Overall a decent stopover.

Lovely dealings with receptionists and night porter when we stayed to easier access hospital appointments recently.Very high standards of bathroom en suite plenty hot water. Stay here whenever I'm here on businessBasic rooms and slightly tired but it is ideally placed for the sea front and the town ( both less than 2 minutes away ) A bonus is that it has it's own car park as opposed to on street parking . Staff are lovely and the breakfast is freshly cooked to your order with a good choice of items. Certainly reasonably priced accommodation.

We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the breakfasts and bar area and stayed in a spacious clean room with our little dog and 2 teenage kids, we have stayed before and will be back again, the location is amazing too ,highly recommended.

This must be the nicest hotel for it’s price range we have ever stayed in. The whole place, room and public rooms were spotless. All the staff we had contact with were great. The only disappointment was breakfast, there was only a cooked breakfast option, no continental option. We visit the area regularly to see family and the Windsor will now be our first hotel option.

Had a lovely nightsstay as we were here for a family wedding at Spanish city . Staff very helpful breakfast amazing . After making our booking and reading some of the reviews I thought I had made a bad decision and to be honest yes it’s dated inside but our room was clean bedding was clean no problems at all only needs new mattress but we slept well and bathroom was great we had a lovely nights stay and we would not hesitate to book and stay again well worth it for the price . We had not stayed here for 15 years as our monthly visits to the area tended to finish in South Shields, felt like a change!! So from the lovely warm welcome to an equally warm good bye everything was just perfect, the night clubs are gone :-) we had a front facing room and for the price it was well appointed, the bathroom had a bath and separate shower. Very pleased and will certainly be back on our next trip in a month or so.

My husband and I spent four nights at The Windsor and were delighted with the friendliness of the staff, the comfort and size of our room and the delicious breakfasts.

I was a returning guest to the Windsor. My last visit was 9 years ago. I was a little perturbed at first as it felt like a hostel on entry. Our room was aged and out of date but clean and more than adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and well presented. Thanks I will return .

The hotel is welcoming and the reception is very efficient. All areas are clean and tidy and the rooms are clean. Yes, the floor creaks and the water taps are a law unto themselves but there is always an abundance of hot water and the water in the showers is plentiful. Of course the hotel is ready for a complete refurb but the price reflects the fact that the carpets are well worn and some walls could do with a lick of paint!

12 of us went to the Windsor Hotel for the weekend and as always we had a great time, The staff, Sarah, Andrea, Kelly and especially Laura could not have done more for us, nothing was too much effort. I have been several times before with my dear wife who died last year. I shall carry on my annual visits as long as possible ( I am now aged 80). Well pleased with my stay, a few cut backs like most businesses, but no cause for complaint.I am a Newcastle lad but now live in North Lincolnshire - I love to visit my boyhood haunts again.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The breakfast was lovely, especially the sausage. My wife doesn't normally eat sausage but she ate yours every time we had breakfast. The reception staff were amazing, really helpful and polite.The rest of the staff at the hotel were also amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. Can't wait to visit again.

The staff here are lovely.Really very friendly and helpful. the Room was clean and had everything I needed.I would say that the shower head needs replacing as it has a leak - this didn't affect the quality of the shower, but appearance wise it's a bit of a let down.Shower heads can't cost that much. neglecting it gives a slight impression of the owners/management not caring.

The Windsor Hotel came up in the area we stayed 50 years previously. We were greeted warmly by reception and given our key and directions to get to our room, initial thoughts OK a little tired. The room was clean and bright, floor boards did creak a lot not great for people below so we tried to avoid particular areas. Our only negative was it was really warm in the room at night, window could only be opened regulated amount and fans were not available in the hotel. Would consider the Windsor again for our next visit

This is the 3rd or forth time of stopping at windsor hotel the staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are large with en suite bathroom / showers. The rooms have tv coffee/tea making facilities and a hair dryer. Some of the furniture starting to look old/ dated and the rokms are very hot but we were in a heat wave. It is central to the town , public transport and places to dine out. Close to the beach. All in allwonderful time.

We came to the UK for the sake of attending our son's wedding which was in short notice. Most of our stay was in Newcastle, but we decided for the last few days to stay at the Windsor.It was by far our best hotel experience. The weather was great which was a bonus. The hotel was lovely. A few steps from the beach. We loved the area (given we are Mediterranean). It was very reasonably priced and some great restaurants around. I am an older man and walking is a bit difficult for me but everything was within reach.We had a lovely room, spacious and with a good view.I would say the only thing is that ok the hot days we needed a fan which was available. I was told that they had some but were all in use. It was not particularly big issue.Overall it was an excellent choice, one that we will surely make again if we visit the area again.

I made a bit of a mistake when booking as I had one disabled person with meAnd she also sorted out a twin room for me as there were 4 of us. The lady bent over backwards for us and after a short wait she sorted rooms out for us there was a lift Mam had no problem using her wheelchair. Would take a fan with us next time as weather was nice but rooms were hot. Lovely Chinese over the road and Italian just 5 min walk behind hotel

A conveniently placed hotel 2 mins from town and a minute from the sea / promenade.It has a private car park which is great as its usually on street parking which is difficult to find.Whilst the hotel looks a little tired it is extremely clean, the rooms are comfortable and there is a good selection of items for breakfast to choose from. Very friendly staff and accommodation rates are very fair

Stayed for one night, the staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, the hotel was clean although a little bit dated and tired looking. The room was spacious and clean apart from the carpet and ceiling which was stained,the mattress had seen better days but surprisingly we slept well. I used the tea/coffee making facilities which were good. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and fresh, fluffy towels. I had a bath with lots of hot water although my partner had a shower which he kept banging his arms off the sides, there was a tile on the floor which was not grouted. We didn’t have breakfast or used the bar.

Stayed at The Windsor Hotel for 3 nights earlier this week and enjoyed our stay. Pleasant staff and clean room. Location good for town and promenade.

We stayed mon-fri very dog friendly ,our room was clean and fresh the staff were greatpleasant and chatty , will certainly be staying here again .

It was a nice hotel to stay in with a good car park at the rear.Walking distance of the beach and town centre.

My sister got us a voucher from BUYAGIFT.COM for two nights BB before the pandemic. As most of the hotels and things were shut down we had to wait two years before we could use it. I booked the brake with the voucher the voucher coverd two nights BB. I Booked four nights BB so I had to pay £235 for the the two extra nights 🤔. But when we got to the hotel the reception did not know any thing about a voucher. She said we were there for four nights Double Bed room only. We went back down to reception later to speak to another receptionist that found out about the voucher. She said we had paid for the four nights room only with the £235. Buyagift had only booked us in for the four nights only nothing about breakfast. She phoned buyagift and they said we should be BB four nights. After a few minutes she got it sorted. BUT IT WORKED OUT THAT WE PAYED FOR FOUR NIGHTS DOUBLE BED ROOM AND THE VOUCHER MY SISTER GOT US FOR OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND CHRISTMAS PRESENT COVERED THE BREAKFASTS ONLY VERY EXPENSIVE BREAKFAST. THIS IS WHAT THE RECEPTIONIST SORTED FOR US. She was very polite and friendly and helpful you could not ask for a better one. The hotel was clean and tidy but the room was a bit dusty. Bed comfortable All the staff were friendly and helpful and polite. Breakfast was very nice and adequate. Pity no draught beers or larger in the bar.

21 of us stayed overnight, we all found the rooms comfortable, there was one or two very minor issues, which were resolved immediately.The Bar prices were very reasonable.The Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of variety.The staff were very attentive and friendly.Excellent value.Would recommend the Windsor to anybody. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here a lot,love the fact it's close to all the shops,sea front,and they love dogs,so gets my vote every time.

Lovely weekend withgrandchildren, spacious room & comfy beds. Breakfast adequate choices for adults but maybe a 'lighter' option for children. Staff were very helpful & friendly & hotel is close to the beach & short stroll to town centre.

The Windsor hotel was a great place to stay over for a weekend The staff especially Laura was very helpful and polite made our short stay a pleasure I would highly recommend you try here we will be staying there again

We had a great stay at the Windsor with our dog. With choice of breakfast. The location of the hotel is great for lovely walks on the beach and promenade. All the staff were very kind and helpful. The room was very comfortable. We shall be coming to stay again

After reading previous reviews I had my doubts, however for the price charged you can't really complain, if you want all the luxuries pay double or more elsewhere. Our room was clean & bed comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful. We were room only so didn't have food. Bar was open with limited options of choice. Free parking a big plus, location a few steps from the sea front. Would stay again.

Stayed at the Windsor a few times now. Location is great. Staff are very friendly & helpful, especially Laura. You get what you pay for. The rooms are clean but dated & rough around the edges. There's a nightclub over the road so if you're at the front ear plugs are essential. Overall it's value for money.

I enjoyed my stay at The Windsor Hotel . The staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional and the breakfast was very nice . The room was spacious and had a nice bathroom, the only downside was the beds could do with modernising. All in all a good stay thank you .

Had a lovely few days room was comfortable had a problemwith shower when mentioned to staff they said they would have a look but we had already used bath.

This hotel was excellent value for our overnight stop when visiting family in Whitley Bay. There is a large car park. We requested a quiet room,and were given a room at the back of the hotel. The bedroom was a decent size, clean and with comfortable twin beds. There was a bath and separate shower in the newly equipped bathroom.Perhaps the corridors of the hotel could do with a face lift, but we had no grumbles at all.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Windsor hotel as always the staff were proffecianal and polite food was great to issues we will continue to use the Windsor as a stop over when we visit Newcastle.

A warm, friendly and comfortable venue with on-site parking 2 minutes from seafront and amenities. Great for weekend visit. A night club opposite, no problems with noise, but would not recommend parking in front of hotel on weekend nights, no problems but lots of happy people!!!

Stayed for 2 nights at the weekend for a family get together to celebrate a birthday.Hotel was comfortable and the staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel accommodated 2 family members with reduced mobility well. There was ample parking for 2 cars. Breakfast was good.We ate in the Bazil Brasserie on Saturday nigh which was excellent and exceptionally good value for money.

Enjoyed our short stay at The Windsor. Had a nice room and good facilities. Special mention for the staff especially on reception who were first class and dealt with a couple of problems we had in a lovely way, Nothing to do with hotel, We will return to Whitley Bay in the future and The Windsor will be our first choice. Handy for everything the town has on offer.

You have to pre-order your breakfast the night before which is a bit off putting and unusual. Would have left a 5 star review if not for this. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular, cheap 35p carton orange juice and pot of hot water served in tea pot with sachets of coffee or tea

8 of us stayed for 2 nights Friday & Saturday.Parking easy in a large secure car park.Check in quick and efficient, we all got double rooms.Lovely breakfast both days, rooms warm and very clean.All staff were very welcoming and nice. Would highly recommend for a value for money break.

So we arrived (my Mum & I ) with 3 dogs, one of which was a new puppy we had literally just collected.The staff really couldn't do enough for us they went above and beyond to ensure we were as comfortable as could be.The Hotel itself was clean, but old and tired so could really do with some refurbishment but dont let this put you off.I would highly recommend this hotel.They really cannot do enough for you.

Very good service

We had a large spacious room full of sunlight. The powerful shower revived you each morning. Clean and well maintained. Lovely staff. Close to town, you can walk there and walk to the sea and beach. So it easy to get to all you need. Bed was firm and perfect for my back. Definatley go again.

Really great hotel, well positioned in Whitley Bay. Very close to the sea front and the centre of town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. The hotel was well maintained and the staff were courteous, professional and friendly. The room I was given was a large double with shower ensuite and large built in robe. All the facilities in the room and the public areas were very clean and hygienic. Room was quiet with TV, coffee and tea, etc. Also has some parking available to to the rear (about 15 I'd say) but plenty of on road parking nearby. A really good price for a lovely hotel. Well worth booking.

Our stay at the Windsor was very comfortable.It is clean and convenient and staff were very pleasant and helpful.If staying for a weekend would suggest asking for a rear bedroom as hotel is directly opposite a nightclub which opens Friday & Saturday I believe.

As always a lovely place to stay, the staff are so helpful and pleasant. I come up every year predominantly to do the great North run , obviously missing last year due to COVID, but it would be nice to stay here at your lovely place during the summer months and my wife and I must try and arrange this. This year with the change to the great runs course I was in a bit of a panic as to how to park on the day of the run and happened to mention this to the young lady who was behind the main desk on the Saturday the evening of September the 11th when I arrived , she gave me the tip of using the metro on the day of the race , this was such a relief and made it easy and no pressure on the day, so I would like to thank her for that. This shows how helpful the staff are and would comfortably recommend your hotel to anyone. Thank you again and we’ll see you again next year. Travis Wattley

The room was clean and comfortable, but very much in need of an update. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and the staff very helpful. Had seen lots of bad reviews before arriving, so was very worried, but to be honest from our experience we would stay again, some rooms must be better than others?

Had a two night stay, welcome was very good. Did not eat in the hotel, clean room and a comfortable bed and a good night's sleep.Also free parking that was good for my visit.

Stayed with my son and border collie for a few days.Laura on reception is an absolute Gem.Not only is she is busy on reception but in the bar, serving food and dealing with any requests. Such a lovely person chatty/helpful.The staff make this hotel, all the staff were lovely and helpfulThe hotel itself is a bit tired, windows don’t always open properly, sinks don’t work etc, but they have a handyman who will try and fix what he can.The location of the hotel is perfect for the beach, promenade and as a base. The food is lovely as well, breakfasts set you up for the day.Also dog friendly and the staff are dog friendly!

We had a great stay , friendly helpful staff large family room ,clean quiet and a great location , we used the bar wifi and the restaurant for a full english breakfast,we will be back next time we plan a trip to whitley bay ,perfect for us 2 adults two young teenagers and a yorkie .

We stayed for 5 nights in a family room.I cant praise this hotel enough the room was clean, the carpet and furniture were dated but clean which for us was the most important thing. After reading previous reviews we decided to take a fan as some previous guests had complained that the rooms were too hot, however we didn't need to use it as the room was just right temperature. Beautiful on suite bathroom with bath and shower. The room was enormous with plenty of room for the 4 of us to not feel cooped up. We had a back facing room which was really quiet. Breakfast was lovely and we were so pleased they offer a vegetarian option. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location is also great central to whitley bay shops and a 2 minute walk to the beach.Thanyou to everyone at the windsor Hotel we had a great break and hope.to visit again.

Stayed here with my 3 boys. Family room was very spacious. Breakfast was decent. Could have used the coffee machine for a better coffee.Downside of room was as it faced the sun, it got very warm and due to window restrictor, unable to open this far to let some fresh air in.Other than that,would recommend highly.

We recieved a friendly welcome from the staff. The room was clean with a comfy bed but the pillows were hard and flat. The shower worked well and the bathroom was cleaned daily. The room met with our needs and was as expected.

Lovely stay great staff perfect location spotless

My 6 year old son & I were made to feel welcome the moment we entered. As he said:"Dad, everyone here is so nice and friendly. They all say hello to us." He enjoyed it so much that we were able to book 2 more nights on top of the original 6.Breakfasts were ordered to suit both of us, even a meal at the bar was specially made for him. Beds were comfortable. Walking out the entrance we could see the beach at the end of the road.A playground was only a few minutes away as was the Metro that whisked us further afield to Newcastle. We walked to Tynemouth & St. Mary's Island. He loved the 'night walks', strolls along the expansive prom and we felt completely safe. The beach and sea were huge source of joy too. So much to see & do neither of us wanted to leave.A happy hotel in a great location.

We had a super time- myself and two children (aged 2 and 8). The hotel room was spacious (room 6), had everything we needed and the staff was lovely. It has parking, It felt very safe and the location is literally perfect for rock pooling. We spent 3 days in Whitley Bay and just had to buy a net and some buckets. Didn’t need to spend anything else entertainment wise.There’s a beefeater and wetherspoons breakfast nearby (definitely recommend going there for breakfast instead of eating in hotel. Cheaper and nicer - sorry!)Obviously if you’re wanting 5 star then you won’t like here, it does feel old but in a comfortable and clean way.I really recommend, and am looking at returning. It’s now my favourite UK beach destination.

You get what you pay for, I found the rooms was standard but we got what we paid for, our rooms was very clean, the shower was the best, I'm gonna miss the shower, the staff was very nice and friendly,I asked the cleaners to stay out of our rooms while we was there, which they did but every morning the cleaner knocked and asked if we needed topping up on anything, it was nice that we wasn't forgotten about, I was a bit worried about the rooms being to hot as I read the reviews before booking, but I found the rooms wasn't to hot you couldn't sleep they was warm but not unbearable but our radiator was off, on arrival our rooms was on different floors but the very kind lady at reception sorted out the rooms so they was on the same floor and next door to each other ????, I would recommend this hotel to anyone that doesn't mind a standard room to stay in, beach 2 mins away everything on the door step what more do you want, we be back

Stayed overnight as we had a friends birthday in Park View, ideal location for all the local bars and shops, close to the beach.Good size room, very clean if a little dated in places. Only gripe was the room was very warm even with the window open, overall we’d use it again.

Good size car park. Staff very pleasant and polite. Quite a large, pleasant room with lots of storage space and a good size bathroom. Mattresses adequate, though I would have preferred them with a little more support. Breakfast nicely cooked, though they don’t serve filter coffee. Over all, good value for money and we would stay there again.

We arrived at the Windsor hotel and was immediately greeted with derelict buildings around and the hotel looked a little sad, however the inside told a different story, it was in need of a little tlc here & there but the room was excellent and clean , nice reception area and the staff made the visit , they were all so friendly and welcoming, we’d definitely go back !The hotel was very well situated and only a short stroll to the beach and sea front , car park was easily accessible and safe too .All in all definitely recommend ????

Room was too hot window only openedan inch requesteda bath got a shower it couldn't be changed as only so many rooms had been changedthis is secont ime we requesteda bath and got a shower we only go for the bath as we only have a shower at home , room was very tired , on entering the only window was splattered with seagullmess . Went to the bar to get some fresh air no draughts beers only bottled, had a coffee was given a half a bottle milk a Giant tea pot a sachet of coffee as what is in the room so funny. The receptionist was great ant as helpfull as possiblebeen 4 times this year as they exept dogs but dont think we will return !

I lived in Whitley Bay from 1973 to 1981. My Son was born here but died exactly one year ago. I came back for the memories.The hotel was very comfortable with everything I needed and a lovely breakfast. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

We were given a lovely bright and spacious room, the hotel it self is set close to the beach and within walking distance to the shops, brilliant friendly staff who bent over backwards to help you, we could even take the dogs to breakfast with us, we will definitely be going back next year x

We were in Whitley Bay to meet up with an old friend. We had called a couple of other hotels as well for comparison but as soon as I started talking with Sara we decided to book with you. We stayed 1 night at the Windsor en route to Scotland. Staff were very welcoming. Clean and tidy room with plenty of toiletries, towels and extra bedding. Good value breakfast included in our booking. Would definitely return.

We had a lovely big room and ensuite with a bath and separate shower. There was no real choice at breakfast it was either full english or a combination. I had scrambled egg, beans and black pudding - nice enough but I would have liked something other than the oats of a full english. Everything else came in individual packets. We got a pot of hot water, a sachet of Nescafe and an individual t-bag. This was our 4th accomodation in a week long trip up the east coast and York. Other hotels had a much better choice and provided us with a pot of tea and cafeteria.

One of the best hotels I have e stayed in since I have been disabled.I was visitinghere with my carer and found there was a caring atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt wanted and not a nuisance.I would particularly like to thank Maisie for her constant enquiries as to whether we were alright.The room was just what we needed and it would be a pleasure to return if we can. All the staff we came in contact with were pleasant and helpful, and the one time we were able to use the restaurant in the evening everything we ordered was well presented and excellent. Thank you fir those lovely few days, perhaps we can manage a longer stay next time.

Our stay at the hotel was brilliant can't fault them at all, even after a mix up with our room ( partly my fault) it was sorted no problem. The breakfast was worth the extra and the room was clean and comfortable. When visiting the North East again we will definitely be staying here.

We were attending a family event in the area, the weather was unusually warm and the room temperature was 30 degrees + which was unbearable through the night, the seagulls singing from 0400hrs didn't help.The hotel was excellent,good price,good food and bar,the weather and seagulls are obviously not a problem that can be rectified,but fans in the rooms may help.We will definitely return as the location and staff were second to none.

We traveled as two couples from Manchester not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised how well a budget hotel performs in these trying times of Covid-19. The staff are friendly attentive with time to chat and helpful.Accommodation clean towels and bedding crisp and fresh,breakfast really good hot and freshly prepared nothing too much to ask for the lovely staff, thanks for a great break, will return again soon.

Clean hotel and good value for money, helpful staff, good location for the surrounding areas. All in all we were very happy with the B&B accomodation.

The atmosphere was happy and relaxing. The staff were amazing and felt like they would do anything for you if they could. They were amazing with my nearly 2 and 5 year old girls. Will recommend and come again!

We stayed at The Windsor with ourgrandson for the night,it was very clean, comfortable and very close to the sea. the staff were friendly and helpful,we had a meal in the bar which was very good.

Reception staff is amazing nothing is too much trouble.Think rooms could do with a fan or some aircon in the hot months was really hot and windows dont open enough.We stayed 3 nights breakfast first morning was beautiful other 2 morning serving staff not as good as we paid bed and breakfast we expected the same breakfast all 3 morning but the breakfast was cut down the other 2 morning i.e 1 toast i bacon had to ask for jam and suger so breakfast at weekends is a bit of a let down.We would definitely stay hear again but maybe room only and eat out if i could rate the reception staff on its own would be a 10 out of 10 the breakfast or lack of it and serving staff let it down a little bit chef definitely a 8 out of 10

We regularly stay at The Windsor and have never thought of going anywhere else. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, pleasant helpful staff, great breakfast, we don't use the bar but it's there if we wanted to and the lift is a big help to ourselves. Few changes due to covid all good. Hotel was clean tidy receptionist was very friendly on arrival and check in easy and straightforward.The room was clean and bed comfortable and clean.The hotel could do with a revamp as deco is dated but it functions perfectly well as it is.I would recommend this hotel to others for short stays.

We found every member of staff polite, helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, the bed was comfy and the bathroom clean and tidy ... even a bath in there! Plenty of hot water; super shower!We were impressed with the car park too, as most hotels in Whitley Bay seem to provide a minimum of parking spaces (understandably. ) We did not partake of breakfast as we were up and off and ate a bit later in the day.

Five very comfortable nights at the Windsor Hotel, Whitley Bay. Helping with getting Sushi Me Rollin' ready for opening during the day, exploring some very pleasant dining of an evening with a walk by the sea to follow and then, a good night's sleep at the Windsor Hotel. Very happy customers. Paul

please do not accept this as negative critiscm, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel , the staff were brilliant and the food was very good , i also appreciate the parking facities, however our room (79) although an excellent room had a few problems , the main one being the bed which very uncomfortable , it has a deep dip one one side ( the wall side ) and is very hot this may be due to the quilt which for this time of year is very heavy , we found sleeping to be a problem. The toilet did not flush correctly ,however when mentioned to the staff was dealt with immediately.we have stopped at the hotel previously ( some years ago ) and would do so again.The bathroom is looking a bit tired with scuffed bath and shower panels and split grouting which spoils it but the hot water worked alright when you got used to it .As a previous estates manager and safety officer may i make the point that random inspections of rooms help, pick a room at random and have a member of staff stay overnight to critique it .regardsdavid hutton

Very friendly staff , room was ideal for us for family of 4 and dog . Was a very hot evening and the windows don’t open properly in our room which needs sorted . As other reviews have said the carpets are worn but hotel is nice , room spacious with en suite bathroom and toilet , tea and coffee and tv in it .

the room was ok, but sorry to say the bed was very uncomfortable, the breakfast was very nice and the eggs were cooked to perfection, the staff at the hotel were all very friendly which is what I accept from you lovely Geordies as forthe bar had limited stock which I accept due to the lockdown, great to have free parking but you an park for free in near by street, many thanks to ALL the staff for being making us feel welcomed.

Rooms clean and bathroom nicely refurbished the best rooms being those with separate shower and bath.Rooms at front can suffer from noise from bar opposite.Staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel overall is very clean and tidy.The free parking is a bonus.

We were met on arrival with a friendly, attentive receptionist who confidently shared all necessary details about our stay. Every room and eating arrangements worked perfectly. She also shared her knowledge of local amenities which we used to full effect. As we were celebrating our sapphire wedding anniversary at the hotel we wanted a weekend that worked smoothly. The manager blessed us with her friendly Demeter and help with our baggage. We will certainly be coming back again. We stayed at the Windsor for afew days. Felt really safe as they ensured that there was social distancing in the restaurant, and masks had to be worn throughout the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here a couple of timesRooms are spotless everything you needMy only criticism is had to plug kettle in on bedside table and you only got 1 spoon for 2 cups.. It would always be my 1st option to book this hotel

The hotel is ideal for touring the area. it also has a nice beach 100yds away.CAR PARKING EXCELLENT. I did not use restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. All sorts of restaurants and shops nearby

We were not over impressed with the room as it was located with a prominent view of the kitchen extractor fan. Also quite high room temperature. Specified sea view is not possible and there is no telephone in the room, also specified. Thought the towels, although adequate, were a bit small for showering. Thought the self-service offering was very plain and lacked choice. Otherwise pleased with the hotel and availability of off-street parking.

After reading some reviews we were expecting a rundown hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. Rooms we clean and spacious. The staff were AMAZING and the breakfast was lovley ( the black pudding was delicious.Our onky criticism was that ome of our rooms was on the front of the building opposit a nightclub.This caused some disturbance.Would ask for a room off the front for future visits.All in all was.a great weekend. Thank you
